Our Inspiration

The York Rose Collection is our ode to the inspiring and uplifting city of York. Drawing inspiration from the White Rose of York and the Rose Window at York Minster, Kay has created a beautiful fine jewellery collection that includes laboratory-grown and natural diamonds set in floral rose motifs. Her solitaire and trilogy rings have Yorkshire Rose blooms built into the side profile with precious stones at their heart. Each piece is an emotional homage to the people, landscapes and creativity of Yorkshire.

Kay Bradley says:

“Last year was a sensational milestone for the York Rose collection. Not only did we add signet rings and the beautiful Brontë ring to the range, we also pushed our creative boundaries by unveiling the York Rose Tiara. I can’t think of a better way to kickstart the New Year than by celebrating the White Rose of Yorkshire in spectacular frozen form!”

The York Rose Tiara

The York Rose Tiara is a stunning symbol of British craftsmanship and traditional elegance. Exclusively designed by Kay Bradley, this one-of-a-kind jewel is crafted with 10 carats of marquise-shaped, pear-cut and round brilliant-cut diamonds set in 9ct white gold. It was first unveiled at a private event at York Minster and was later worn by Hanni Treweek on her wedding day to Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd in July.

The York Rose Tiara embodies what can be achieved when designers like Kay Bradley join forces with prominent British craftspeople. With the right imagination, it is possible to create dream-worthy jewels that fulfil all your requirements. Speak to us about a bespoke design appointment today.

The Ice Sculpture

The exact design of this year’s ice sculpture is being kept secret until the weekend of the York Ice Trail. However, you should definitely expect to see some floral blooms frozen on Low Petergate!

“My goal this year is to shine a spotlight on the York Rose Collection, which symbolises local pride, tradition and history,” Kay explains. “The late, great Dame Jilly Cooper owned pieces from the York Rose Collection and so too does Dame Judi Dench. We’ve also added York Rose signet rings for men, so everyone can carry a symbol of Yorkshire with them wherever they go. I think there’s something special about wearing a sentimental symbol set with sparkling natural or laboratory-grown diamonds.”

The Competition Prize

This year’s York Ice Trail competition prize is a British-made York Rose solitaire ring with a 1.02 carat D-colour, VVS1 clarity laboratory-grown diamond set in platinum. This sensational piece of fine jewellery is worth a staggering £3,000. When viewed from the side, you will see a Yorkshire Rose in full bloom, accented with a delicate diamond detail.
